Someday I want to organize these all by room in the virtual tour, so you can see the progression of each area. Maybe in the Spring...
| Here's Alexis' back porch, after removing 3 layers of flooring from atop the green pine and some nasty paneling from the walls- It looks like all the original wood shiplapped stuff is still intact, hidden on the outside by aluminum siding.
Note that there is no longer unsightly metal conduit running all over the brick and ceiling. I don't think we'll be getting a Christmas card from the electrical contractor this year. |
| Here's Jim, working away at fixing the two or three plumbing issues we found when we first turned on the water. Then we really took a hard look at the pipes... |
| After a bit of deliberation and a brief executivive meeting, it was decided that it all must go. Pics of the extraction should be uploaded this weekend. |
| A rare photo of the fearsome alien Burmese Slug. RUN AWAY!!! |
| And people ask why I'm not in any of the pictures... |
| <cough> I think I have the Black Lung, Pop- <cough> <cough>... |
| My dad, uncle, and cousin (and Kevin) re-ran all the gas lines and helped with some heavy lifting. Anyone need three cast-iron bathtubs? |
| Chad, the Master Plasterer, and Laurie, his merry apprentice. |
| The first round of new appliances has arrived- too bad we have no kitchen for them. From left to right: Alexis' fridge, her stove, my stove. Now the contractors should have no doubt as to what sort of snobs we are. |
| Random shots from Alexis' side. |
| One of our neighbors, also the guy who's replacing the flat part of our roof. |
| Putting on new locks- to keep out the aliens. Check out Brian on the drill, while Alexis and Kevin keep the beer from escaping. We snatched this crew of skilled craftsmen from ODOT |
Random rancid rafters.
...OK, so they're joists; sue me. |
